We are all concerned about the coronavirus outbreak. Infection control procedures are actions taken in healthcare settings to prevent the spread of disease. Our office has always and will continue to implement all infection control protocols recommended by federal and state agencies. Your safety and well-being is a priority at our office. Our sanitation protocols have been extended to include further disinfection in the waiting areas and restrooms, including but not limited to credit card terminals, knobs, countertops and use of disinfectant air sprays. Toys have been removed temporarily from children's playing areas. Our rigorous protocols of instrument sterilization, discarding of disposable items and disinfection of treatment areas are always in place.
Should you reschedule your dental appointment?
If you are healthy, there is no need to cancel your appointment. If you choose to reschedule your appointment, we totally understand and will help you with that.
With respect to the safety of our staff and patients, is you are ill or have flu-like symptoms, you should reschedule your appointment.
If you have in close contact with someone tested positive for coronavirus, you should be quarantined for a minimum of 2 weeks to ensure no symptoms arise, and that you did not contract the virus. If you have recently traveled to one of the countries that experience significant COVID19 outbreaks (including China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, and Spain), then you should be quarantined for a minimum of 2 weeks to ensure no symptoms arise, and that you did not contract the virus.
We do not understand that, at this time, the most at-risk population are the seriously ill elderly with underlying medical conditions. However, our safety precautions should include everyone.
